Program Description:
Sophia University SpringProgram Description:
Sophia University, a "pioneer in global education" in Japan, offers the opportunity to study in English in Japan's vibrant capital city. Three programs -- the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Green Science Program and the Green Engineering Program -- all offer a full range of courses in English, allowing students in a variety of majors to explore Japanese culture while earning credit towards their degrees. Students also take Japanese language courses with options for students at all levels from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced proficiency.

Students in humanities, social sciences and business fields -- including history, art history, political science, literature, philosophy, sociology, economics, marketing and management -- may enroll in classes in the Faculty of Liberal Arts, which offers degree programs fully taught in English. Biology, chemistry and physics students with an interest in environment and energy may select courses from the Green Science and Green Engineering programs. Students with advanced Japanese language
proficiency may enroll in a broad range of courses taught in Japanese.

Sophia's campus is steps away from Tokyo's metro station, allowing for easy access to the rest of the city and points beyond. On campus, students can participate in a variety of clubs and activities and meet both local students and students from Sophia's over 200 other partner schools around the world. With the motto, "Men and Women for Others, with Others," Sophia offers students the opportunity live and learn as part of a global community in the heart of Tokyo.
