Help a Student Get a Passport!

Passport imageThe Office of Education Abroad wants to help UWG students who've never been abroad before get their first passports. You can help us by donating to one of the two initiatives below.

Westside to Worldwide is an alumni-driven initiative designed to fund passports for African-American male students who have never had a passport previously. African-American male students are significantly under-represented in study abroad, and obtaining a passport is the first step in helping students explore their place in the world. Applicants will need to submit an information sheet and brief essay, and we'll select awardees each semester that we have funds available. Students do not need to be studying abroad in the current academic year to receive an award through WtoW. To donate to this project, follow this link: http://giving.westga.edu/worldwide

Wolves Abroad Passport Grants are for any UWG student who has never had a passport before and is in the process of applying to a study abroad program in the current academic year. Some first-time travelers find the passport application process confusing or intimidating, and others overlook the added cost. This fund is designed to eliminate an obstacle that might get in the way of students taking advantage of the opportunity to go abroad -- you provide the funds, and OEA will help students prepare their paperwork and get the application processed. Applicants will need to submit an information sheet and brief essay, and we'll select awardees each semester that we have funds available.
